What is dermaplaning? Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure for your skin. Your healthcare provider uses a special instrument to shave away the uppermost layers of your skin. Dermaplaning can help reduce the appearance of acne scars or other skin imperfections by revealing newer, undamaged skin. It can make your skin look younger; though, it doesn’t stop the aging process. Some people also get dermaplaning for hair removal. This is only a temporary fix because your hair will grow back. Most people get the procedure on their face, but you can do it anywhere on your body. Bonus IV treatment: What can it help with? Dehydration, nausea/vomiting, fatigue, post-Covid, anxiety, depression, hangovers, athletic recovery, PMS symptoms, infections, hair and nail health, skin health/rejuvenation, anti-aging, weight loss, immune support, autoimmune disease, migraines, inflammation, pain, cognitive function, cancer and multiple sclerosis support
A note from Saint Mark United Methodist Church of Atlanta: Can Do Cancer is a non-profit organization that works to improve and enhance the lives of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment in Des Moines and surrounding areas.
Can Do Cancer Provides:
- dinner for patients and their family on chemotherapy treatment days
- house cleaning services approximately once per month during treatment
- a web site for patients to learn what they need to know after a breast cancer diagnosis
- motivational support for patients throughout treatment
Within a matter of weeks after a breast cancer diagnosis, many patients begin chemotherapy and undergo surgery, all the while trying to learn about breast cancer. This can be an overwhelming time. Medical information is provided to patients via health care providers. Can Do Cancer provides practical information and services to help women navigate through cancer and make the journey a bit easier.
